Wizard Camp

CAMP BON TEMPS - Breaux Bridge, LA

Come join BYMP as we travel across the world and explore the different countries where the 5 Girl Scout World Centers are located. The girls will be exploring different cultures as they earn different stamps on their passports as we cross the different countries. The week will be filled with crafts, swimming, archery, fishing, canoeing, and exploring the world around us. We hope you join can take this journey with us!

G.I.R.L 2019

Uskichitto Retreat Center - LeBlanc, LA

June 30-July 3, 2019

Are you ready to camp like a G.I.R.L. (Go-Getter, Innovator, Risk Taker, Leader)? We are too! This is an overnight camp for Girl Scout Brownies and above. Not only will you gain outdoor skills and make new friends, you will discover more about who you are and how you can make a difference in the world around you. Traditional camp activities include campfire cooking, hiking, swimming, crafts, and games. There is also archery, a ropes course and a rock wall challenge (age restrictions apply).

Adult volunteers are essential to help with the Units. The number of girls accepted depends on the number of volunteers. Mandatory training is Sunday, June 30th from 11-3pm for aides and volunteers. Girls are placed in Units by grade level but might not be with their Troop. Daughters will not be placed with a parent volunteer. All meals will be provided. This 3-day overnight camp features recreational and competitive sports for all ages and skill levels, including everything from high energy sports like ultimate frisbee and soccer, to relaxing activities like yoga and hiking! High Adventure Camp 2019

Woodworth Environmental Center- Woodworth, LA

Are you ready for an exciting time at camp this summer? At High Adventure Camp, you'll get to zip line, complete an obstacle course, canoe, and so much more! If getting out of your comfort zone sounds fun, then this is the camp for you! Space is limited for adult volunteers, but interested adults may contact the camp director to apply. GS Love Wildlife Reserve Overnight

Think Like A Programmer Virtual Program

Complete your Think Like A Programmer Journey online and learn to code all from the comfort of your own home on your own schedule! CodeCampKidz will guide you step by step as you work through your projects. No experience or previous knowledge is required. When you finish your journey you will have coded a Take Action Project of your choosing and earned your journey award badge. All under the guidance of a live instructor. Note: Badges can be purchased once your scout completes the web series through the shop or online. Classes are first come first serve and have a daily maximum of 20 scouts. If a class is full it WILL NOT SHOW in the dropdown for class selection for that day. After an initial “onboarding” class to meet your instructor you are free to come and go as your schedule permits (You will choose your initial on-boarding class while setting up your CodeCampKidz account. Class sign-ups are on a first come, first serve basis). Classes are held daily to support you. All you need to participate is a modern browser, high speed Wi-Fi, and a computer with audio capability. Once you register your scout through GSLPG, you will receive a confirmation email with instructions on how to register and join your first class. Canoe Training Info
$15 with shirt and whistle

Adult Canoe Training-- pack own lunch bring water bottle, hat with brim, sunscreen, bug spray, swimsuit on under clothes, water shoes or old tennis shoes, towels, and change of clothes. Volunteers will tip into water.
Volunteers -- in order to qualify for this course, you should be a current Girl Scout, have a current First Aid/CPR certification plus successfully complete the videos with knowledge check. First Aid/CPR cards must be submitted to info@gslpg.org .
This course will qualify you to take your girls canoeing in still water (Camp Bon Temps, Wawbansee or approved waters)

An email will be sent with videos and knowledge checks once deadline has passed for registration—check your junk mail if you cannot find it. It is required to complete the day before training by noon. If you do not, then you will not be allowed to participate in the training. CPR/First Aid cards should be sent in at time of registration.
