Outdoor Training Module 3 ONLY!
*Required for taking girls camping or on an overnight trip*
Module 3 must be taken in person. Please bring appropriate items for an overnight experience, remember to come just as prepared as you would expect from your girls.
Open to all Adult Volunteers
Not just essential for taking your girls camping, but fun too! Come learn the basics you’ll need for spending the weekend outdoors, along with an array of hands-on activities to help you facilitate cooperative, experiential, and girl-led processes during your time outdoors. Our completely skill-based module! We cover fire- building (and extinguishing!) techniques, different outdoor cooking styles, basic map & compass skills, a few key knots for the great outdoors, and how to teach knife safety. And, of course, more songs and games and lots of opportunities to learn from one another. This is an overnight training with the evening session beginning at 6pm and a full day following. It will be a very interactive hands on experience with a ton of information exchanged you are sure to come home with a heart and notebook full of new ideas and energy to share with your girls. |

Each year, these awards are presented to girls who have planned and executed Take Action projects in response to pressing community needs. In the process, girls gain skills in leadership, project planning, time management, and budgeting, plus confidence that lasts a lifetime. With a supportive environment, girls can do anything! This is a required training if you are planning on earning your Silver or Gold Award this year.

Outdoor Training Module 3 ONLY!
*Required for taking girls camping or on an overnight trip*
Open to all Adult Volunteers
Not just essential for taking your girls camping, but fun too! Come learn the basics you’ll need for spending the weekend outdoors, along with an array of hands-on activities to help you facilitate cooperative, experiential, and girl-led processes during your time outdoors.
Module 1: Outdoor Safety * Module 2: Base Camp & Beyond * Covers outdoor hazards and how to prepare yourself and your girls, as well as the basic planning you’ll need to do for establishing a great base camp during your overnight. Plus, share ideas with other leaders, revisit songs and games and get those burning questions that you have answered. * Modules 1 & 2 can be taken via home study. Module 3: Knots, Knives, and New Skills ** Our completely skill-based module! We cover fire- building (and extinguishing!) techniques, different outdoor cooking styles, basic map & compass skills, a few key knots for the great outdoors, and how to teach knife safety. And, of course, more songs and games and lots of opportunities to learn from one another. ** Module 3 must be taken in person. Please bring a water bottle, sunscreen and appropriate clothing.
