Take this workshop to become certified in Small Craft Safety for Canoes, and Rowboats. This workshop also include a Basic Water Rescue portion that qualifies the participant to be the safety person for creek walking in Girl Scouts of Western Washington.
This workshop is focused on safety skills for boating and does not teach the participant how to use the craft. All participants must pass a boating skills verification, demonstrating ability to maneuver the craft, and swim test, including treading water 1 min. and swimming 25 yards fully dressed, to become certified.
This is a physical workshop including demonstration of rescuing self and others using technics applicable to each specific craft.
Pre-course materials review will be required.
