Description: On September 3, 1964 President Lyndon B. Johnson signed into law the Wilderness Act. This historic bill established the National Wilderness Preservation System (NWPS) and set aside an initial 9.1 million acres of wildlands for the use and benefit of the American people. Join Girl Scouts of Western Washington as we celebrate the Wilderness Act turning 50 with activities highlighting the great outdoors. Learn how to journal your outdoor adventures; basic outdoor survival; arts and crafts; and learn about the many wilderness areas around our region.
Girls attending will receive an event patch.
