What is Day Camp? Day Camp is exactly what the words imply - camp by day, home by night - a fun-filled week of basic Girl Scout camping. We teach the first essential skills: building fires, preparing a campsite, setting up a tent, and learning to work as a team. At Day Camp, girls begin to gain that outdoor self-confidence for which Girl Scouts are famous.
Who may attend? Any Girl Scout may attend Day Camp, including any qualified Program Aides or VITs. Non-Girl Scouts may attend too, as space allows. Young children (3-5 years old) and sons of Day Camp staff have their own units.
Volunteer Staff: Volunteers staff all Day Camps. In this way the council is able to keep the cost of Day Camp very low. Please remember that everyone providing Day Camp for your daughter is there because they want to be. Day Camp cannot happen without them! If you are able to volunteer, even just for a day or two, please complete the Volunteer Staff Application and return it to the Tulsa Girl Scout Service Center. There are many positions available: roamer, bus monitor, unit leader, unit assistant, and program consultants.
