Outdoor Skills is a fun and interactive course that enables volunteers to take troops on overnight events and camping in the great outdoors! There are two course modules from which to choose. A tent is needed for the overnight. Participants attending the session together may share a tent.
- Planning & Overnight (2-part module): This training module includes a planning session which introduces equipment needed and menu planning. The overnight session, typically held Saturday – Sunday, allows adults have the opportunity to develop and experience the basic camping skills needed to successfully lead groups camping.
- All-in-One Weekend (Friday to Sunday): Planning and skills components take place over the course of the same weekend and covers equipment, menu planning, outdoor cooking and other basic camping skills needed to successfully lead groups camping.
Outdoor Recertification is for volunteers in need of a refresher course or for those who took the Outdoor Skills training more than 5 years ago.
Note: For the 2-part training module, courses are listed by county and by the date of the first session.
